The Director General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA), Engr. Inuwa Ibrahim led a high-level delegation on a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Nuhu Ahmad Bamali, as part of ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts to advance the state’s transport reforms.
The delegation included the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Project Management Specialist, Kaduna Line officials, and key technical staff from KADSTRA. The visit served as a strategic briefing session to update the Emir on the sweeping transformation underway in the transport sector under the administration of His Excellency, Uba Sani.
During the engagement, the Director General outlined several landmark initiatives currently being implemented across the state. These include the Kaduna Subsidised Transport Scheme, which provides free transportation services to ease the burden on citizens, and the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) system, designed to modernise urban mobility.
Other projects highlighted include the construction of 200 bus stops across the state as part of the first phase of infrastructure development, and the establishment of modern motor parks, including Sobawa Motor Park, Southern Kakuri Motor Park, and Eastern Millennium City Motor Park.
In his response, the Emir of Zazzau commended the state government for its ambitious and forward-thinking approach to transport development. He expressed satisfaction with the scope of the initiatives and reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Zazzau Emirate.
His Royal Highness also pledged to leverage the influence of the traditional institution to foster community acceptance and ensure the smooth implementation of the projects. He emphasised the critical role of collaboration between the government and traditional authorities in achieving sustainable development.
The visit underscores KADSTRA’s commitment to inclusive stakeholder engagement as it drives reforms aimed at improving mobility, accessibility, and quality of life for residents across Kaduna State.
