The Kaduna State Government, under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, has launched the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (KBRT) Project ; a 24-kilometre dedicated transit corridor stretching from Kawo Bridge to Sabon Tasha. Designed to decongest city traffic, improve safety, and cut travel times, KBRT will feature modern bus stations, passenger shelters, and an Intelligent Transport System for efficient, reliable service.
With strong backing from the French Development Agency (AFD) and implementation led by KADSTRA , the project is part of a ₦30 billion 2025 transport investment, including ₦5 billion in counterpart funding. Once complete, KBRT will deliver:
• Safer, more reliable public transport
• Environmental benefits through reduced emissions
• Streamlined, organized travel for thousands of daily commuters
Alongside KBRT, Governor Uba Sani also broke ground for the Interstate Southern Bus Terminal — a central hub to enhance inter-state connectivity, consolidate informal bus parks, improve commuter comfort, and boost economic opportunities in the transport sector.
Together, these landmark initiatives will position Kaduna as a model for modern, sustainable transportation in Nigeria, bringing a faster, greener, and more connected future for residents and visitors alike.
